Up to 9 Winners: Winners will be featured on WCCB News Rising as a co-weather anchor in the 7-8a hour of the show, with 1 winner featured per month. Winners will also each receive a $100 gift card and 2 tickets to Carowinds (ARV $194). Winning “Kid Casters” will be featured on Rising on the following dates (subject to change): March 21 (winner 1), April 18 (winner 2), and May 16 (winner 3). Additional dates to be determined by WCCB News Rising producers.
HOW TO WIN: No purchase necessary. Go to wccbcharlotte.com’s contest page and click on the Kid Cast contest. Complete the entry form and upload a video of child doing a pretend weather forecast. The video must be 10-30 seconds in length. In order to enter the contest, users will have to like WCCB News Rising’s Facebook page (this can be done directly from the contest page).
All approved video submissions will be available on the contest page to be viewed. Final decisions will be made by a team of 5 station representatives. All three winners will be chosen from the same pool of entries, so only 1 entry is necessary.
Deadline for entries is 11:59pm on December 31.

All entries must include name of both parent/guardian and child, child’s birth date, contact email address, street address, phone number, and video file.
ELIGIBILITY: To win, you must be between 7 and 12 years old and a legal resident of North or South Carolina. No employee of Brothers Heating and Air (“Sponsor”), WCCB-TV (“Station”), their affiliated companies, his or her spouse, or immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each shall be eligible to win. Immediate family members include, but are not necessarily limited to, parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. Employees, or relatives of employees, of any television or radio station in the Charlotte Nielsen DMA or Charlotte Arbitron ADI are not eligible to win. Additionally, Station reserves the right to disqualify any other person from participation in the Contest where such participation would, in the sole opinion of Station, compromise or give the appearance of compromising the integrity of the Contest. No person shall be eligible to win any contest conducted by the Station more than one time in any sixty-day period.
No responsibility is assumed by WCCB, their respective subsidiaries, parents, partners, or other providers for lost, late, misdirected, or illegible entries or for any computer, online, telephone or technical malfunctions that may occur.
MISCELLANEOUS:
1) The winners consent to the use of their name, likeness and/or voice without further compensation for Station’s or Sponsor’s advertising, public relations and promotions purposes. By entering Contest, the winner gives Station and Sponsor full rights in perpetuity to broadcast, or distribute their name, likeness and/or voice, in any edited, distorted or altered form executed by Station, in any media including but not limited to broadcast television, radio and the internet, without any further compensation.
2) Station and Sponsor accepts no responsibility or liability for loss or damage due, in whole or in part, to the awarding, acceptance, possession, use or misuse of prize or from participation in the Contest. Winner must complete a W-9 tax form and sign an affidavit/waiver that releases Station and Sponsor, their affiliated companies and employees from any and all liability and claims.
3) Prize is non-transferable and non-assignable. Prize can not be substituted for cash value. Station’s decision with regard to all matters relating to Contest, including those matters not specifically addressed in these rules, shall be final. Prize not claimed in accordance with these rules will be forfeited and another winner will be selected by 5-member station panel.
4) Winners will be notified by email no later than 5pm on Tuesday, March 18, for the March 21 Rising show, 5pm on Tuesday, April 15, for the April 18 Rising show, and 5pm on Tuesday, May 13, for the May 16 show (all dates subject to change). Winners must claim prizes at the station on the day of the Rising show on which they are to appear. Additional winners will be notified according to KidCast availability as determined by WCCB News Rising producers.
